Data Protection, Privacy & Cookies Policy for students attending classes at MTDA.
Thank you for trusting MTDA with some information about you and/or your child(ren). We would like to assure you that we take that trust seriously and we want you to know how we use your information and why.
Who is holding your information?
The information you have given to us is kept by the Principal/Owner of the school and administration manager, with relevant information (such as names, date of birth, contact number and medical issues) also accessible to the class teachers. We do not permit copying or sharing by our staff and actively monitor for any potential breaches.
Where do we get data from?
We only hold data provided to us by you. Initial information is collected from class4kids that you complete before participating in any of our classes. We may also collect data that is emailed to us by you via our website. We only keep data that is necessary to run MTDA efficiently.
What information is being collected?
If you have sent us a web contact form submission or an enrolment form asking us about our services, MTDA will be collecting and keeping your name/email/telephone number and the relevant information required, child’s name, date of birth, allergies, class preference.
Why is it being collected?
We need to retain some of your data to enable us to understand needs and provide a better service. We need to be able to contact you regarding classes, shows, events etc., to answer any questions you may have, and to retain internal records. We may periodically send promotional emails about new products or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
Where is your data stored?
You/your child(ren’s) data is transferred onto our password protected, main database, which is not connected to the Internet and only accessible by the administration manager. Our mainstream suppliers have appropriate security standards. These include Facebook, Twitter. On site your data is stored on an external hard drive, off site data is stored in a locked cabinet.
Do we share or sell your data?
We never share or sell data we hold.
Your information is held in the strictest confidence. Our staff are aware that confidentiality is paramount and any sharing/selling of data is a breach of data regulations. To take part in exams, performances or theatre performances we will usually be asked to send personal data to the organising body. For theatre performance this is also for Fire Safety regulations. We will ask for your consent to share the data when entering your child(ren). It is your responsibility to ensure that we hold the correct details for you/your child(ren) and keep us updated of any changes to contact information or health details. We reserve the right to share information only if we suspect a safeguarding issue (child protection policy).
How long do we retain your data?
We will keep and update records for as long as your child(ren) attends MTDA Once your child(ren) leave all appropriate relevant information will be destroyed and the student/s removed from the database.
What will be the effect of this be on the individual concerned?
I hope the effect will be positive and allow us to keep in regular contact during our working relationship.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
How we use cookies on our website

Under the new regulations you have the right to know what information we hold on you/your child(ren). Simply send your request by email to shonahalfordstudio@gmail.com the data we hold for you will then be shared with you.
Do you have a complaint?
If you have a complaint about the way we are handling your information or how we have responded to a request for information or data removal, please let us know. If we find we are unable to reach an agreement, please feel free to contact the Information Commissioner.
